Dear Members of the Polish Home Association and Friends of the Polish Home,

As an acting president of the Polish Home Association, I would like to share my thoughts and feelings with you today.

Today is “Dzień Zmarłych”, the day on which we visit cemeteries to remember and pay respect to our loved ones that we lost.  It is also time to reflect and remember members we lost this year.

We are in the second year of the worst pandemic we’ve ever experienced. We are all worn out but at the same time, I believe that we feel stronger and more connected as a community. We may have different opinions and beliefs but we are still one strong, united community. We were together, supporting each other for 100 years and we will be for another 100 years.

A few days ago, the Board of Officers of PHA had to make a very hard decision to implement restrictions imposed by Washington State government and King County. You probably are already aware that any visitors, volunteers or patrons entering Polish Home have to be fully vaccinated or have a valid negative test. It was a very painful decision, and I must say, it wasn’t taken lightly.

It was taken first and foremost with you and your safety in mind. I would like to assure you that we do and always will respect everybody’s opinions, beliefs, and feelings. Polish Home is the place where everybody is welcome and respected, but it is also a place where we all should feel safe.

We really hope that the pandemic and these restrictions end soon. Our greatest wish is that we can soon gather and meet at the Polish Home without any restrictions whatsoever.

Please accept our apology for all the hardship these restrictions have caused. We will do whatever we can to bring back all services and activities at Polish Home to all of you as soon as possible. Rest assured that we will review these restrictions and adjust as needed.
