Polish Fundraiser to Support Ukraine – CONTINUES

Update Over $53,000 has been raised by 5/5/22; $30,000 has been wired to PAH in two tranches, $2,000 granted to the Seattle-Gdynia Sister City Assn to support City of Gdynia refugee relief, and $5,000 to the Ukrainian Association of Washington State for humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Donations are still coming in! Please support the fundraiser if you can. The refugee situation in Poland has become very difficult as about 2 million refugees stay in Poland.

In support of our Ukrainian neighbors, the Seattle Polish Foundation (SPF) has launched a fundraising campaign: Polish Community Support for Ukraine. Contributions are donated mostly to Polish Humanitarian Action (Polska Akcja Humanitarna, PAH) in order to support people affected by the war in Ukraine and refugees arriving in Poland.  To donate please visit the SPF website here.

PAH is a well-respected Poland-based charity with 29 years of experience. PAH provides humanitarian assistance, including food, hygiene products, and other forms of support.

SPF has matched the first $5,000 in donations – that happened in the first few days. For a bigger impact use your employer’s matching program; many Pacific NW companies match donations to Seattle Polish Foundation.

The situation in Ukraine and on its borders is critical, time is of the essence. The first transfer will be sent when the fundraiser reaches the minimum goal of $5,000 in contributions from donors. The SPF will send more as donations are collected.

SPF is a public charity with 501(c)(3) tax exemption status; your donations to SPF are tax-deductible.
