Martha Golubiec Nature Trail Opening

Martha Golubiec Nature Trail Opening

The Polish Scout Troop “Kaszuby” invites you to Camano Island for the opening of the Nature Walk Trail commemorating Scoutmaster Martha Golubiec.  Martha Golubiec was the founder of the Polish scouting organization in Seattle in 1986 and served as its Scoutmaster for 24 years before passing the torch to a younger generation of leaders.

Join the scouts on this special event on Camano Island, where you can walk the trail, sit around the fire listening to colorful Martha stories and sing together.

This commemoration is honored by a delegation from the Girl Scouts headquarters in Chicago: Current Chief Girl Scout Commissioner Hm Kinga Banas-Zadlo, former Chief Girl Scout Commissioner Hm Beata Pawlikowska and a long-time friend of Martha Golubiec’s Hm Lusia Bucka.

The gathering place is at the University Lion’s Club Youth Camp located at 499 W Camano Dr, Camano, WA 98282. The program includes:

  • 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm – Opening ceremony and walking the trail
  • 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Refreshments and socializing
  • 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm – Bonfire outside or “bonfire” inside depending on the weather.
