Young Polanie Group Looks For Talent

Young Polanie Group Looks For Talent

The Young Polanie / Młodzi Polanie folk dance group is starting its activities again and is looking for children aged 6 to 10 who would like to join.

Mlodzi Polanie perform traditional Polish folk dances and have a collection of Polish folk costumes that go with it. All children are welcome – children don’t need to know or to speak Polish to join the group. There are no fees and the membership and rehearsals are free of charge. The rehearsals are at the Polish Cultural Center on Friday evenings from 6  to 7 pm. Mask are required to enter the Polish Cultural Center.

It’s a new chapter for the ensemble that has been in existence since 1967 and at different times included children, youth and young adult dancers. The group is now led by Paulina Phung who took over from the founder and long time manager Barbara Strutynski who retired last year. The pandemic has suspended all activities of this kind for year and a half and so the group is starting almost from scratch. Please wish Paulina and the Young Polanie successes in the new season!
